Walking

“I do not paint the being, I paint the passage”

Montaigne

Photography crosses the time, Men cross photography, the photographer crosses the city, the city crosses photography … Time, Space and Men, a click, a glance, a frame and here is a photo. Anonymous, drowned, insignificant. Simple walking witness of the city which lives, of the time which passes and of the being who passes (away).

I envisage photography as an art of the instant taken out of time, a photo is only a sample of time but which exists only as part of a wider time. That of the period, of the hour of the day, of the hour of people etc. also it is an art of frame in a vaster frame. That of the society, of the event, of the opportunity. Every picture contains deep in itself all the society by which it was born, its time and place. The photographer digs into this magma for one to pull a unique, original, personal and at the same time universal piece. We share all the same recipes with which we cook by adding to it some homemade ingredients.
